A social enterprise is a company that gives part of its profits to a good cause. At Mamapina, we strive to give back to the Filipino community in several ways.

• Mamapina gives back to the Philippines directly through its maternal nutrition program, Munggo for Mamas. This program provides nutritious meals to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers throughout the Philippines.
• Mamapina supports Filipina mothers and communities by practicing fair trade with the artisans who create heritage products. We value the importance of artisans’ livelihood and ability to share their traditions and skills.
• Our products are curated and designed to celebrate Filipino culture. This is an important aspect of our mission to give Filipinos an opportunity to proudly share their culture with family and friends, especially new generations of Filipinos in the diaspora.

Non-profit organizations can’t sell products to fund their activities in the Philippines, where Mamapina was founded and operates. To raise money for Munggo for Mamas, we began selling artisanal products and giving a percentage of the profits to the maternal nutrition program. We quickly realized that this model was benefitting artisans while providing our customers with valued heritage products.

We’re encouraged with the success of the social enterprise model, and we want to expand its benefits. Our goal is to establish a non-profit organization or foundation to further expand the maternal nutrition program, be able to accept tax-free donations and grants, and partner with other organizations. Mamapina will continue to contribute to this non-profit organization while other sources of funding will help it reach more Filipina mothers. We’ve tried to work exclusively with Filipino artisans and manufacturers to create our products. However, certain manufactured products are not available in the Philippines. Despite our best efforts, Mamapina has had to manufacture our initial line of swaddles in China until we can identify Filipino companies to make those products. The designs for the swaddles were developed by Mamapina’s Filipina-American founder in collaboration with others in the Philippines. We’ll continue to seek out Filipino manufacturers for all of our products.

All of Mamapina’s products are labeled with the composition of the materials. Please note that modern weaving techniques incorporate thread with a small percentage of polyester fiber because 100% cotton fiber can break or fray during the weaving process. This incorporated polyester fiber also gives the finished product strength and durability. The final result is a soft and durable woven heritage product that will last for many years.

Mamapina’s swaddles are made from thread that’s a combination of cotton and bamboo viscose fiber. Bamboo viscose is more environmentally-friendly than other materials. It’s also breathable and soft which makes it ideal for baby swaddles.

Additionally, for customers in the Philippines, payment can be made via Gcash or bank transfer. Mamapina has selected trusted payment processing services to protect the information of our customers.

Mamapina products can be delivered to any country within the service area of the delivery/courier/fulfillment services we utilize. International orders can be fulfilled by Amazon when placed on the Amazon USA market. Additionally, Mamapina can fulfill international orders via DHL if Amazon is unable to fulfill the order.
